The 77th meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee, Uttarakhand was held in the Secretariat on Monday.

Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, the 77th meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee, Uttarakhand was held in the Secretariat on Monday. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed all the banks to appoint Bank Mitras.

The Chief Secretary said that people in rural areas have to travel a long way on foot to get banking services. Business Correspondence (Bank Mitras) should be deployed so that people living in remote areas can also get the benefits of government schemes and banking facilities. Local people should be trained for this, so that local youth can get employment.

The Chief Secretary said that public awareness should be spread so that maximum people can get the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. He directed that the farm sector and other priority sectors should also be focused under the annual credit plan, as well as directed the SLBCs to improve the credit deposit ratio. He said that efforts should be made to increase it by continuously monitoring the districts where the loan deposit ratio is less than 40.

The Chief Secretary also directed for speedy disposal of the applications approved under Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana. He directed the concerned heads of departments to give active and important cooperation in getting the proposals submitted by the young entrepreneurs approved from the bankers only after getting technical help. He said that while sending the loan application form to the bank branches by the ULB under PM Svanidhi Yojana, the applicant must be provided with the necessary information including which bank his application was sent.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Manisha Panwar, Principal Secretary Shri L. Fanai, Secretary Shri R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Smt. Sowjanya, Shri Dilip Jawalkar, Regional Director RBI Shri Rajesh Kumar, Assistant General Manager SLBC Shri N.S. Rawat, President of Industry Association Shri Pankaj Gupta, Secretaries and Heads of all departments were present.
