Dehradun. Information on various topics was provided today in a press conference held at the media center located in the Secretariat on the status of Kovid-19.
Chief Secretary Shri Omprakash informed that the State Government has decided to import the vaccine from abroad and a committee has been constituted for this. The committee has five members, Additional Secretary Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary Arunay Singh Chauhan, Director Procurement Medical Directorate, Khajanchand Pandey, State Finance Service officer and Sumant Sharma posted in PPE Kit Cell Planning Department, Government of Uttarakhand.

He told that we are also constantly in talks with the Government of India. The vaccines that have just been received are relatively few. This month we will be able to get 8 lakh and next month 9 lakh vaccine, there is also a condition that those who have got the first dose of vaccine, they should be given second dose.

He told that our talks are going on with the major companies of the country that in addition to the central government, they should also give us the vaccine. We have got some vaccine and some more are yet to be found. We will import 2 million doses of Sputnik vaccine in the next two months. A committee has been formed for this and funds have also been arranged. Hospitals and drug dealers who are over-charging or black-marketing the drug or giving fake medicines by not giving the actual medicines, strict action will be taken against them.

The Chief Secretary said that 80 metric tonnes of oxygen has reached us and we need 60 tonnes of oxygen daily. Right now we have got two containers of 20 MT each. We have requested the Central Government to provide containers and we are confident that by Friday we will get 6 more containers. We have just received two containers.

IG Shri Amit Sinha told that we also get a lot of information about black marketing, on the basis of which 136 places were raided yesterday. A total of 24 FIRs have been conducted so far, 35 accused have been arrested and 204 have been recovered. 587 people have been challaned for not wearing masks, 6057 people have been challaned for violation of social distancing.

He told that we have collected a mitigation fee of Rs 4 crore 26 lakh so far. So far, challans of 2 lakh 61 thousand people have been cut. Punishment is life imprisonment for selling counterfeit medicines. I request the public to come forward and inform us about black marketing or selling counterfeit medicines. It will be investigated immediately and prompt action will be taken.

Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that the experts of our technical committee have advised us that we have to reduce the severity of Kovid, so if we give prophylaxis, it will have good results. The state government has decided that we will provide medicines to our entire population. Ivermectin medicine will be used in it. Its process has been started. Adults will be given three days in this. It has very few side effects. Pregnant women and children will not be given.
